Tillandsia iglari is a small, tidy species that stays under 4 inches even at the largest grade. Everything about it is neat: short stiff leaves, an even rosette and a compact silver finish.
The trichome coat is dense and uniform, so the plant holds a consistent pale grey rather than shifting green in cultivation. That reliability makes it useful in mixed displays.
It offsets steadily rather than growing larger, building into tight clusters over time. Grouped together, several plants read as a single silver mass.
Three grades run from 2 inches to 4 inches. At $8 it is an easy plant to stock in quantity for arrangements and terrarium-style work.
Growing Tillandsia iglari: Care Guide
Small, stiff and heavily scaled points to a dry-country plant. Therefore keep it bright and lean on water.
- Light: High light with direct morning sun. Good light keeps growth compact rather than stretched.
- Water: Soak 15 minutes every 10 days. Short soaks suit small plants.
- Drying: Shake it out well, particularly once clustering starts. Trapped water between offsets is the main risk.
- Airflow: Steady airflow, increasing as the clump thickens.
- Temperature: Comfortable from 45°F to 95°F.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer at quarter strength to speed clustering.
- Mounting: No soil. Glue or wire to cork, grouped rather than spaced.
- Pups: It offsets freely. Leave pups attached, since clumps sell better than singles.
