About cork bark tubes
Cork bark tubes are whole rounds of virgin cork bark that came off the tree in one piece. They keep the curve of the trunk, so each one is a natural hollow tube with rough bark outside and smooth cork inside.
We sell them uncut by the pound, and we cut them only if a piece is too long for the box. Lengths run from 6 to 35 inches, and diameters from 3 to more than 6 inches. In addition, we offer cut pieces in mini, small, medium and large.
Order by the pound in one-pound increments, so 20 pounds means an order quantity of 20. Our largest box, 36 by 16 by 16 inches, holds 18 to 20 pounds. Ordering that much also gets you the longest pieces.

For a shop, a cork tube is a display and a fixture at once. Stand a tall tube on end with plants set into the top and along the sides. Alternatively, lay one down as a log with plants along its length. Reptile and terrarium buyers also want these tubes, so they sell beyond the plant trade.
Using cork bark tubes with air plants
Stand a tube upright, and then set plants into the open top and into any natural gaps in the bark. Fix them with Tillandsia Wire through a drilled hole, or glue small plants with E-6000 Tillandsia Glue. Cork dries quickly and never rots, so you can mist the whole tube in place. Alternatively, unwire the plants for a full soak every couple of weeks. A tube laid on its side becomes a log for a row of plants, and a short cut piece makes a single mount. Keep it in bright indirect light, and it will last for many years.
- Fits: Many plants on a full tube, for example xerographica, harrisii, streptophylla, stricta or ionantha clumps.
- Mounting: Wire through drilled holes, or glue small plants.
- Watering: Mist in place, or unwire for a full soak.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer in the soak.
- Placement: Floor, shelf or greenhouse in bright indirect light.
- Care of the cork: None, because it resists rot and insects.
