About premium thin cork sheets

Premium thin cork sheets are very thin sheets of virgin cork bark, light and flexible enough to bend, cut and wrap. A box covers roughly 40 to 50 square feet. Each sheet ranges from about 12 by 15 inches up to 20 by 30 inches.

We sell them only by the full box, at $200, and that price includes shipping.

Thin cork is the material for covering surfaces. For example, it turns a plywood panel, a wall, a planter box or a shop fixture into a natural cork backdrop. Then you can mount air plants straight onto it. Of course, you can also use it for anything else you like.

Because the price includes shipping, ordering it alone from this site can charge shipping twice. So if cork sheets are the only item in your order, please order from our cork website instead. That site is wholesalevirgincorkbark.com, and it avoids the double charge.

For a shop or a designer, one box lines a display wall or makes dozens of mounts. As a result, the cost per square foot is a fraction of pre-cut cork tiles.

Using thin cork sheets with air plants

Cut the cork with heavy scissors or a utility knife. Then fix it to a backing with construction adhesive or staples. Thin cork bends around curves and corners that thick bark cannot. Next, mount plants to the finished surface with E-6000 Tillandsia Glue at the base or with Tillandsia Wire through small holes in the sheet. Space them so air moves between. Cork resists rot naturally and dries fast, so you can mist a cork wall in place. Take plants down for a full soak every week or two, or mist heavily and let the wall drip dry. Finally, keep the panel in bright indirect light; sun does not harm the cork itself.

  • Fits: Any mounted plant, but best for walls, panels and backdrops.
  • Mounting: Glue or wire plants to the cork, then staple or glue the cork to a backing.
  • Watering: Mist in place, or take plants down to soak.
  • Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer in the mist or soak.
  • Placement: Bright indirect light, indoors or under cover.
  • Care of the cork: None, because it resists rot and insects.
