About the handcrafted ceramic pot
This handcrafted ceramic pot is on closeout at $1 while stock lasts. We will not be restocking this type of pot. New pots are coming, and this run is being cleared to make room.
Each pot is about 2.25 inches tall and 1.75 inches across, with an internal cavity 1.75 inches deep, sized for a single small air plant.
Colours still available include white, charcoal, blush, sky blue, mint, marble in matte and glossy, and peach. Because the pots are hand made and hand painted, minor imperfections are normal.
Ceramic ships by weight. If a large order runs over the shipping calculated at checkout, we send a bill for the difference to your account.
For a shop, a closeout pot at $1 with a 35-cent ionantha in it is the cheapest finished display we can offer. It retails for several times its cost. Buy the colours you want while they are here.
Using the handcrafted ceramic pot with air plants
The cavity takes a small plant with a base under about 1.5 inches: ionantha, scaposa, small stricta, a young harrisii. Set the plant in loose, lift it out to soak, shake it, let it dry and put it back; glazed ceramic has no drainage and does not breathe, so a wet plant left in it will rot at the base. Keep the pots in bright indirect light. If a plant sits loosely, a pinch of dry sphagnum or a pebble under the base steadies it, or a dab of E-6000 Tillandsia Glue on the inside wall fixes it for good.
- Fits: One small plant with a base under 1.5 inches: ionantha, scaposa, small stricta.
- Mounting: Set in loose. Glue only for a permanent piece.
- Watering: Remove the plant to soak. Return it dry.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer during the soak.
- Placement: Bright indirect light on a shelf or sill.
- Care of the pot: Wipe dry. Hand painted; do not scrub.
