About the zebra wood pot
The zebra wood pot is a small, smooth-finished wooden pot with the distinctive dark-and-light striping of zebrawood. It is a refined natural display piece for a single air plant.
It comes in two shapes, square and round. The square pot is about 1.75 by 1.75 inches and 2 inches tall, with a 1.125-inch hole drilled to take the base of a plant. Its round partner is the same scale.
The finish is sleek and even. So the striping reads clearly, and the small footprint means a dozen of them line up neatly on a shelf.

Using the zebra wood pot with air plants
The 1.125-inch hole takes a small plant with a slim base: an ionantha, a small stricta, a scaposa or a young funckiana. Set the plant in loose so it can be lifted out to water. The hole is blind, and water left in it soaks into the wood. Soak the plant, shake it, let it dry, and put it back. A finished wooden pot should not itself be soaked. So keep it out of the water and wipe it if it is splashed. Bright indirect light suits both the plant and the finish, which fades slowly in strong sun.
- Fits: One small plant with a base under about 1 inch: ionantha, small stricta, scaposa.
- Mounting: Set in the drilled hole. No glue needed.
- Watering: Remove the plant to soak. Keep the pot dry.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer during the soak.
- Placement: Bright indirect light. Avoid hot sun on the finish.
- Care of the pot: Wipe dry. Do not soak the wood.
