About Tillandsia mitlaensis var. tulensis
Tillandsia mitlaensis var. tulensis is the Tula form of a dry-country Mexican species. Where typical mitlaensis stays narrow and upright, tulensis opens out somewhat and carries broader leaves.
That difference matters on a bench. The wider rosette catches light across more surface, so the plant reads fuller than the type at the same nominal size.
Silver trichome cover is dense on both, giving a consistent pale grey that holds year round rather than greening up under cultivation.
Three grades run from 3 inches upward. Like the type it clusters as it matures, building tidy groups rather than single large rosettes.

Hot dry Mexican valley country. Therefore it takes heat easily and asks for very little water.
- Light: High light, including direct morning sun. Good light keeps the rosette compact.
- Water: Soak 15 to 20 minutes every 10 days.
- Drying: Invert and shake. Broader leaves mean a wider centre that collects water.
- Airflow: Good airflow, and more once clustering begins.
- Temperature: Handles heat well, from 55°F to 100°F. No frost.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer at quarter strength.
- Mounting: No soil. Glue or wire to cork with room for the cluster to widen.
- Pups: Offsets come readily. Leave them attached for a fuller plant.
