About Tillandsia stricta angel white
Tillandsia stricta angel white form is a white-leaved form of Tillandsia stricta, a Brazilian species that is one of the easiest air plants in cultivation. The foliage is ridged, succulent and near white.
Most stricta is soft green. This form is thicker and paler, and it seems more tolerant of dry air than the green forms. Indoors, that matters.
Smalls are 2 to 2.5 inches wide, and larges reach 5 inches. The rosette is dense and symmetrical, and it holds its shape well.
The bloom is the stricta classic: a drooping cone of pink bracts with blue-violet flowers. It lasts for weeks, and the white foliage sets it off better than green does.
Angel white is a good indoor retail plant. It is forgiving, it looks clean on a shelf, and it blooms young. We grade it in three sizes.
Growing Tillandsia stricta angel white: Care Guide
Stricta comes from humid coastal Brazil, so the species likes regular water and bright indirect light. This form copes with drier air than most, but it still wants a weekly soak. Bright shade suits it better than full sun. Rotate the plant now and then, because the dense rosette leans toward the light and can lose its symmetry on a windowsill.
- Light: Bright indirect light. Morning sun is fine.
- Water: Soak 20 minutes every 7 to 10 days.
- Drying: Invert and shake. The dense rosette holds water at the centre.
- Airflow: Good airflow after each soak.
- Temperature: 45°F to 95°F. No frost.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer. Feeding brings on bloom.

- Pups: Two to four pups after bloom.
