About plant labeling tags
Plant labeling tags are small card tags on an elastic string, and we sell them in packs of 100. Each tag measures about 1 5/8 by 7/8 inches, or roughly 4 centimetres wide. The elastic loop slips over a plant of any size, so the tag stays with the plant from the bench to the customer’s hand.
The tags are thin paper card, so they take pen, pencil or a price sticker. They are not waterproof. For that reason, they suit retail labelling rather than long-term greenhouse use, where a mist would soften them.
We price them at $5 per pack of 100. Order ten packs or more, and we take $1 off each pack.
Because the elastic stretches, one tag fits a small ionantha and a large xerographica alike. Nothing needs tying, and nothing leaves a mark on the plant.
For a shop, a tagged plant sells better than a bare one. Write the species name and the price on the tag, and the customer learns what they bought and how to look it up later. A hundred tags cost five dollars, so labelling adds five cents to each plant.
Using plant labeling tags with air plants
Write the name, price and care type on the tag before it goes on the plant. For example, “Tillandsia ionantha, $4, mist twice a week” tells the customer what they need on one line. Then slip the elastic loop over the base of the plant, or around a wire hanger, so the tag hangs clear of the leaves. Take the tag off before soaking, because wet card goes soft and the ink runs. Alternatively, loop it onto the display piece rather than the plant. Store spare tags dry, and they keep indefinitely.

- Method: Write first, then loop over the base or the hanger.
- Watering: Remove the tag before a soak. It is not waterproof.
- Feeding: Note the feeding routine on the tag, for example monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer.
- Pricing: $5 per 100, $4 per 100 on ten packs or more.
- Care of the tags: Keep them dry and flat until you use them.
