Description
Tillandsia minutiflora was formerly known as bryoides, and growers who know the genus well may still recognize it under that older name. It belongs to the Diaphoranthema subgenus, the group of tiny, wiry Tillandsia species we carry several of.
About Tillandsia minutiflora
Like its Diaphoranthema relatives already in our catalog, minutiflora stays genuinely small and grows in tight clusters rather than a single dramatic rosette. We’re currently offering it in limited quantities as small clumps, which suits how this group naturally grows in the wild.
The name change from bryoides to minutiflora reflects updated botanical classification rather than any change in the plant itself, so buyers familiar with either name are getting the same species. It’s a solid addition for any collector already building out a Diaphoranthema section. Its small scale also makes it an easy plant to feature in a grouped miniature display alongside our other tiny Diaphoranthema species.
Growing Tillandsia minutiflora: Care Guide
Like other Diaphoranthema miniatures, give it bright light and excellent airflow so it dries out completely between waterings. Mist or soak briefly, then make sure it’s fully dry within a few hours, since standing water is the biggest risk to a plant this small.
