Houston Cotton Candy belongs to the same “Houston” hybrid group as our Red Princess and Houston Giant Form listings. It’s a cross between Tillandsia stricta and Tillandsia recurvifolia. The “Cotton Candy” name refers to its bloom. That bloom is described in the trade as pink-and-white, sitting alongside small, delicate white flowers.
So we’ll say plainly what we found and didn’t find. We haven’t located independent confirmation that this color-form’s foliage differs meaningfully from a standard Houston plant beyond bloom color. Instead of inventing a distinguishing leaf trait, we’re selling it honestly on the bloom it’s named for.
