About the barnacle cluster
The barnacle cluster is a natural mass of acorn barnacle shells, cleaned and dried. Openings of different sizes riddle the cluster, so it holds several plants at once without glue or wire. Even empty, it is decorative enough to sell on its own.
We offer five grades: mini at 1 to 2 inches, 3 to 5 inches, 5 to 7 inches, and 7 to 9 inches. The 3 to 5 inch size also comes with an abaca net for hanging. Every cluster differs in shape, so no two are uniform.
On our product photo we planted juncifolia, caput-medusae and green aeranthos, and that mix shows how many plants a medium cluster will take.

For a shop, a planted barnacle cluster is a whole display in one object. Fill four or five holes with plants of different forms, and then set it on a counter or hang it in the net. Customers buy it as a finished piece.
Using the barnacle cluster with air plants
Match each plant to a hole. Slim plants such as juncifolia go in the narrow openings, while caput-medusae and aeranthos fill the wider ones. Most plants stay put by friction. However, fix a loose plant with a dab of E-6000 Tillandsia Glue if the cluster will hang. The cluster drains through every hole, so mist the whole piece in place and let it drip dry. Alternatively, lift the plants out every couple of weeks for a full soak. Hang the netted size from a hook, or set the others on a table in bright indirect light.
- Fits: Three to six plants on a medium, for example juncifolia, caput-medusae, aeranthos, ionantha or bulbosa.
- Mounting: Friction fit in the holes, then glue if it will hang.
- Watering: Mist in place and drip dry, or lift plants out to soak.
- Feeding: Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer in the mist or soak.
- Placement: Table or hanging net in bright indirect light.
- Care of the cluster: Rinse if dusty. Edges are sharp, so handle with care.
