About paleacea caulescent form
We already carry paleacea in its standard regular and large forms, plus a distinct ssp. apurimacensis form and a paleacea gigante listing. This form stands apart on growth habit. It’s caulescent, meaning it develops a visible stem. That stem can be trained to grow upright for a neater, more architectural look than a typical sprawling paleacea.
The dense trichome coverage is what gives paleacea its trademark fog-plant appearance. This form shows that trait especially well, thanks to its slower, more deliberate growth along the stem. It’s a good choice for a grower who wants to train a Tillandsia into a specific shape over time.
Growing paleacea caulescent form: Care Guide
Water like any xeric paleacea. Soak for 10 to 14 days, then invert and shake out trapped water thoroughly. Give it high light and strong airflow. If you’re training the stem upright, support it well so it doesn’t bend under its own weight while young.
