This ehlersiana intermedia hybrid crosses Tillandsia ehlersiana and Tillandsia intermedia. It keeps getting more curly and more striking as each plant matures.
We’re releasing some of this generation now. That makes room for the next round of hybrids we’re already working on behind the scenes.
We only plan to release 30 plants from this cross this year. We’d rather grow most of the batch to full maturity than sell everything young.
Both parent species are already established in our own catalog. So this cross combines two traits buyers already know: the twisting habit tied to ehlersiana, and the softer, humidity-loving growth of intermedia.
A limited-run cross like this rewards a shop willing to hold a few plants. Let them mature into show-quality specimens.
Because supply is this limited, expect some natural variation in size and curl from plant to plant. That’s different from the uniform grading on a long-established species line.
We named neither this cross nor set a formal cultivar registration yet; for now it’s simply the ehlersiana intermedia hybrid, sold under its parentage rather than a trade name.
