As we describe on that base listing, it’s an unintentional cross that turned up among our own Tillandsia pruinosa seedlings. We suspect Tillandsia seleriana as the second parent based on form, but we haven’t confirmed that parentage, and we’re not asserting one here either.
Right now it’s showing the color that makes this hybrid worth stocking as a seasonal feature. The frosted, bulbous foliage picks up added tone as the plant approaches and moves through flowering.
Stock ships at 4-6 inches, the same comfortable middle grade as the base listing. So buyers get a mature-enough plant that shows the bloom clearly.
Because bloom windows on bulbous hybrids like this one can be short, this listing exists to move stock while the color show is active. Otherwise it would just sit until it fades back to plain foliage.
