Tillandsia cacticola grows on cactus in northern Peru, clinging to the spined stems of desert columnar species where little else will take hold. This is the thin leaf selection.
Where the long form extends on a stout stem, the thin leaf clone carries narrower, finer foliage in a looser arrangement. The plant reads lighter and more delicate at the same overall size.
Silver trichome cover is heavy on both forms, but on narrow leaves it gives a wirier, more open silhouette rather than a solid mass.
Three grades run from 6 inches upward. The flower is the shared draw across all cacticola forms: a widely branched spike carrying lavender and cream blooms above pale pink bracts.

A plant that lives on cactus in desert has clear needs. Therefore give it light and air, and water it sparingly.
- Light: High light, including direct morning sun. Strong light keeps the silver bright and encourages flowering.
- Water: Soak 20 minutes every 10 to 14 days. Narrow leaves dry faster than broad ones, so check before stretching it further.
- Drying: Invert and shake. Water gathers where the leaf bases wrap the stem.
- Airflow: Strong airflow after each soak.
- Temperature: Comfortable from 50°F to 100°F. It handles heat well.
- Feeding: Feed monthly through spring and summer with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer.
- Mounting: No soil. Wire it to a branch or cork and let it extend naturally.
- Pups: Offsets form along the stem. Separate at one third size, or let it build a chain.
