Description

Tillandsia karwinskyana is a charming Mexican species found growing as a lithophyte on rocks and cliffs in and around the states of Nuevo León and San Luis Potosí. It produces slender, silvery-green leaves that arch gracefully outward from a compact rosette, giving the plant a soft, feathery appearance that looks wonderful in mounted displays, terrariums, or grouped arrangements.

When in bloom, it sends up a branching spike with colorful bracts and tubular flowers that add a striking accent to its delicate form. This is a prolific, fast-growing tillandsia that readily forms offsets (pups) and clusters into full clumps relatively quickly, making it a rewarding choice for growers of all levels.

Hardy and very easy to grow, T. karwinskyana thrives in bright, indirect light with good air circulation. Mist or soak regularly and allow the plant to dry fully between waterings. Its undemanding nature and quick-clumping habit make it an excellent, low-maintenance addition to any air plant collection.
