Description
Tillandsia gardneri Puerto Escondido is another named locality form of gardneri, sourced from stock originating near Puerto Escondido, Brazil. It gives wholesale buyers a third distinct gardneri option alongside the standard species and the Puerto Seguro form.
About Tillandsia Gardneri Puerto Escondido
This form grows more rigid leaves than the standard gardneri, while keeping the same graceful arching silhouette the species is known for. Its biggest point of difference is its bloom: the flowers are noticeably more colorful than a typical gardneri, giving retailers a stronger visual hook for signage and online photos.
Puerto Escondido, Brazil gives this form its name and its origin story, a detail buyers researching provenance will appreciate. Because gardneri and its named forms are already an established seller in our catalog, adding this one rounds out a small collector-facing lineup without introducing a new care regime to learn. The more rigid leaf structure also tends to hold up slightly better in transit than the softer standard form. Buyers who already stock Puerto Seguro will find this a natural companion piece with its own distinct bloom. The origin story alone gives buyers a specific detail worth sharing with their own collector customers.
Growing Tillandsia Gardneri: Care Guide
Grow this form in moderate, indirect light with good air circulation and steady humidity, the same regime as standard gardneri. Feed monthly with diluted TillyBoost Fertilizer to keep growth vigorous. Its slightly stiffer leaves mount well on cork or driftwood from our Air Plant Accessories category. See our Air Plant Care page for full watering and light guidance. Learn more about the species at Tillandsia gardneri on Wikipedia.
